Cookies

The other day, with the help of Lisa and Matt, I made a batch of cookies, which were probably the best things I’ve ever eated.  So in my lack of anything to do I thought I’d give the recipe, so the awesomeosity is shared. (Just so you know, this is copied from the book, so don’t blame me if the convesions are wrong)

Need:

  • 150 g (5 oz) plain flour
  • 50 g (2 oz) unsweetended cocoa powder (I left this out to have plain cookies)
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 115 g (4 oz) unsalted butter
  • 100 g (3 1/2 oz) sugar
  • 100 g (3 1/2 oz) brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 100 g (3 1/2 oz) milk or dark chocolate chips
  • 100 g (3 1/2 oz) white chocolate chips
Method:
  1. Pre-heat oven to 160 degrees Celcius (350 F / Gas mark 4)
  2. Sift together flour, cocoa, soda, baking powder and salt, set aside.
  3. Beat butter and sugar until smooth and cream and beat in the egg and vanilla.
  4. Add the flour mixture and mix until almost blended.
  5. Add the chocolate chips and mix.
  6. Scoop dough onto a baking sheet in balls (bit smaller than a ping pong, unless you want them big)
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes.

For anyone keeping dibs on my epic gallbladder, I received word today that my application for MSI has been approved. I’m off the hook on 20+ thousand dollars in hospital debt, but my gallbladder still sucks. I think it would be neat if the surgeon did a live blog during the operation. It would go something like this:

9:00am : I’m washing my hands in preparation of removing left leg kidney gallbladder.
9:10am : Just finished my 8th cup of coffee. Maybe I shouldn’t be operating on this guy on 2 hours of sleep in the last 3 days.
9:30am : Initial incision complete
9:31am : Mmm… that nurse has a hot ass.
9:32am : Whoops.. flatline
9:40am : Okay, patient is alive again.

HahahhahahAH, you’d hope not
